ive been building this at work on my breaks out of scrap metal. it is all steel except aluminum tank and is all hand made.colored the tire with heat from torch .functioning wheel and forks. it is about the size of a 20 oz pop bottle to put it into perspective. still needs rear wheel and handle bars then maybe tiny details like carbs, kick start, and whatever else i come up with lol. just thought id share

heres a few more shots of the bike, the back of the frame needs to be cut down, i didnt have anything to go from cause the frame is what i built first so its a little out of proportion.

That is really cool! I'd like to hear more details on the machining process and how you've done it.

there is no "machining" the cyl head was made from a chunk out of a big bolt so i could sand it to just have fins on top, cylinders are drain plugs, all the oval pieces are scrap from presses and the tank was a solid chunk of aluminum i cut out and work on my 1" belt sander for along time working up to a scotchbrite belt

cut up a peice of metal tube for spoke, welded them to a nut for the center peice and the 6 sides of the nut helped keep it some what symetrical. the welded the whole thing to the out ring of the rim, threaded a bolt into the nut of the rim to hold it and faced it all on a big disc sander. then drilled out the threads when it was done

built the back wheel and tire today, just needs to be cleaned up and some little details.

youll like the xs, ive got a 73 xs 650 that i turned into a bobber with lots of harley parts and lots of parts from my many parts bikes. i just need to build a wiring harness for it and then i can take it all back apart for paint!
