Well crew, here are all the pics from Thursday night.
Since the shop is pretty full, and it was raining off-and-on, I had to improvise a bit to get my truck into the dry.
I stripped all the parts I needed of my Explorer before handing it along to the next guy. I need to talk to him on Monday and give him back his PCM, and see if I can nab the throttle body.
Explorer's intake.
Haggard top half of the Ranger intake.
And the smashed up airbox, sure that wasn't helping anything. Filter was nasty.
So I had an issue. My Ranger's air horn was in way better shape than the Explorer's. Except that the main intake scoop on my Ranger was held together with No-More-Nails. So a little improvisation and they were melded into the best of both.
Camo duct tape over the zip-tie
Explorer air box dropped into place.
Of course the Explorer's intake wasn't perfect, so I had to improvise a clamp up
Since I think I may have a vacuum issue, I put a vacuum gauge in my truck. In a super high performance custom mount
New ECT sensor, the new IAT sensor wasn't in at this point.
My ugly mug, fiddling around with the computers. When my truck thought it was an Explorer the check engine light came on. I asked Jay the next day and it was the Explorer's codes in my truck. Since it made no difference I converted my truck back to Ranger.
All your PCMs are belong to us.
Thinking I may have an internal vacuum leak between the upper and lower intakes causing some issues. The gaskets are cheap and easy enough to change so I think I might do them.
And that's it... for now
