Ok. I'm sure i'll figure this out after i get under the van tomorrow however I want to know what i'm getting into. Mainly just wanted to know if it's a pain in the rear to get to the filter. Our focus is a bit of an irritating pain to get off.
The vehicle is
2004 Mercury Monterey
4.2 L Windsor Engine
I have yet to change the oil on this vehicle as my parents would take it somewhere so i have no idea where the filter is. The parents got tired of paying like 30 bucks for an oil change and now it has went almost 15,000 miles, finally convinced them to let me change it. lol. 13 bucks at auto zone for oil and filter. lol. Guess if no one knows no big deal i'll find out tomorrow. lol. On another note anyone got a clue why from what i have read. The 4.2 Windsor block has standard threads for the oil filter but yet the 4.2 Romeo Michigan produced block has metirc? lol. I thought it would be the other way around but hey as with all the Fords we have owned expect the unexpected. lol.
