How is a mechanical oil pressure gauge installed on a 2.9v6 in a 89 ranger?

There's one error on that page, the pipe thread is 1/4NPT, not 3/8NPT

The Temp sensor is 3/8NPT

Actually there's two errors...

"Air" in the sensor (or in a line to a mechanical guage)
has NO effect whatsoever on a steady state guage reading.

Air can actually speed reaction of a mechanical guage
because air moves faster through any sized line than oil can.

Physical reality: Pressure is pressure.

Thanks guys looks like a little weekend project ill be doing soon! saw on a different thread that a guy installed a gauge and found out his oil pump wasnt producing sufficient pressure and when he installed a new one it helped with the lifter tick his truck made. figured i would give this a try and see whats going on with mine.
