Ford dealership are straight idiots, I brought my truck in for an oil change. When I got there I clearly told the service guy I want an oil change not a 15k tune-up. So like a scam artist this guy writes me up for a 15k tune-up and I was in a hurry because my ride was waiting on me and just signed the form not realizing that the total estimate was: $200. I call them after awhile, because I didn't receive a call from them I didn't know it took 6 hours to change the oil, then they can't find the service guy and theres no paperwork in the system saying that my truck was ready to be picked up. Then I receive a call from the dumba$$ telling me that its done. I get there thinking that there was just a mistake on the invoice. Go up to the cashier tell her I'm here to pick up my truck and she says it will cost $211.99. At this point I'am extremely confused, and they are expecting me to pay that. Explained the situation of there stupid employee who entered it wrong and ended up walking out of there paying $34.99 for a 15k tune up. :icon_rofl:

Yeah I personally charge 23.54 for an oil change in my shop, Ford is about 55$ and super lube is 45$ and up...

Why did you go to a dealership for an oil change?

my guess would be since the truck is so new it's for warranty purposes.

or he got some kind of vouchers for it, i know when my friend got her RX8 she get's free oil changes for life at the dealership.

i don't know how she managed that one either.

If you go to any shop that uses API certified oils they cannot void your warranty, unless you bought a semi, they are completely different.....

actually i meant more towards, if the dealer did the change, they can't try to weasel out of warrantying it and say you didn't get the proper oil changes, because they would have records of it.

then again, perhaps vouchers.

He might not have had the time. I barely have time to change mine nowdays. Especially since whenever I change it I slap some fresh JB weld on the pan to slow the leak a little. :D

A lot of dealerships around here are running specials to get business. I see almost all of the dealerships around here doing oil changes for around $15-$20.

First off, change your own oil. Secondly, always read before you sign. I am sure they didn't make a fuss because they want your business, but by rights you owed the full bill because you signed the work order. Maybe it's YOU who is the scam artist?

I can change mine in about 5 minutes.

Whoa...what a hard ass. Want a gold star??? :icon_twisted:

Last time I changed my oil, it took 7 minutes...wait, when was that? :icon_confused:

It's a widely known fact that you don't have to change your oil until it looks like a chocolate milkshake and you need to suck it out with a straw.

And that's only fun if you're the one changing the oil.
