Me: 1 Ford: 0

my guess would be since the truck is so new it's for warranty purposes.

I change the oil in my 08 F-150 and it's only been in my possesion for 1 year.
Aslong as you have proof you did it they don't care.

As for the OP, I think that's a hell of deal for $34.99!

You have to change your oil? I always assumed that was an urban legend. The Ford dealership by me is 34.99 for an oil change.

Five-minute oil change... what? I give mine way longer than that to drain out.

I definitely wouldn't want to pay someone to do it for me though... I'd feel scammed.

7 minutes? That's weak! That's an eternity - no gold star for you!

Seriously though, I was just pointing out that it doesn't long to do it....

Yeah, but did you drink a two-four doing yours? LOL~

Mine takes about ten minutes to change...but that's including cleaning up the spilled oil, dumping it back into the container to recycle, and having 1.5 cigarettes...

Ford dealership here charges that too, and they rotate the tires while it's on the lift. I pick up a $10 rebate slip while I am in there, and every 5th oil change is free.

Also after 5 oil changes, I get a 10% discount on any mechanic service.

i always do my own, it saves so much money. i run mobile1 full synthetic and it costs about 26 bux to do it, if i were to go anywhere to have it done it would cost between 50 and 80.

ive always changed my own oil. Though i take my time while doing it. I just tinker around the shop while waiting for the oil to drain and all that. Im reallly in no hurry on oil changing days.

its well worth it to me to pay the $40.00 ($55.00 or the diesel) that my local chevy dealership (only dealership in town) charges me to do an oil change with what ever synthetic oil that GM uses so I don't have to crawl around on the ground........ make a trip into town to get oil and a filter.... make another trip into town to dispose of the old oil...

not to mention all the impulse shopping I do when I walk into Autozone when I am not on a mission...... plus the chevy dealership lets me test drive what ever I want that they have on the lot.............. next it will be that yellow "Autobots" package Camaro.....

my last ranger changed its own oil. i just add a little every once in a while and change the filter every couple months! but it sure made a mess on my garage floor LOL

First off, change your own oil. Secondly, always read before you sign. I am sure they didn't make a fuss because they want your business, but by rights you owed the full bill because you signed the work order. Maybe it's YOU who is the scam artist?

I wasn't exaggerating when I said I have done it in 5 minutes but normally it's about 10-15. Last time I did it in 5 it was getting dark and the forecast called for rain for a few days so I wanted to hurry and get it done. When most of the oil had drained I jumped up on the tonneau with my feet out at the bedsides and rocked the hell out of the truck for a minute to try to speed up the process. Then I only put 4.5 quarts in because I figured I still didn't get it all out.

I was proud of myself. It kind of reminded me of "A Christmas Story", except I wasn't changing a tire, and my kid didn't say "fuuuuuuuuuuuudge".

lol that is the best way of doin it. My 92 would burn about 1/2 a quart a week so i just the filter periodically.
