my MAF sensor went out and when i went to get a new one & they had 3 different part numbers for my motor, they had all of them in stock so they got them out and none of them looked like the one on my throttle body where the guy said it was so what i need to know is where is the mass air flow sensor on my 95 2.3

since your air box is a different shape than all the rest of the 93-97 rangers im guessing its going to be found relativley close to the air filter itself. take a picture of the air box itself so we can see what else is on it.

The one they told you is MAF is the Throttle Position Sensor. The MAF is the one closest to your airbox, the middle one is the Intake Air Sensor.

It should be in the upper part of your air filter box. when you split the box to take out the air filter it should be in the upper part, not the part that the conical filter sits into. the upper part should have a flat plastic piece with a hole in the middle that the filter sits against when the box is closed. The MAF is right on the other side. If you look into the hole you should see the heated wire element of the MAF. You have to pull the plastic faceplate off that section to get to the MAF. I haven't pulled one out of the air box personally so I don't know how hard it is, but that is where it is located.

it can also be under Air Temp Switch, or Temp Sending Unit. i had to replace the IACV (idle air control valve), Coolant temp, MAP sensor, and TPS (throttle posiiton sensor).

this one should be under air temp.

well that didn't work, its still running the same so any ideas as to what the problem is?

sputtering, wont go over 20 in first, really slow to get going, wont run worth a shit, do you guys think it could be my timing? it never really ran right after we put a new timing belt on it

That could have something to do with it, but did you check the basics first, like plugs, wires, filters and all the nonsense. Sometimes you over look the obvious because they seem too simple.

believe me i have checked everything, my timing isnt off and i think it is a sensor somewhere but idk exactly which one it is
