first, thanks for the replies on my "getting familiar with the duratec" engine post.....just got a new battery, and put 300 miles on this thing, and IM readiness is still not happening....I have just driven it, in all kinds of conditions, not really followed the "procedure" as I live in the city, and it's kinda hard to drive a specific speed, then stop at a specific place. At this point, I'd just about pay a dealer if they could do this, as I just don't have time for this BS. Anyone else had this trouble, any tips here....Can a dealer make this happen? thanks in advance

1990 Ranger won't have a duratec engine, 2.3l SOHC was a Lima engine back then

So what year ranger?

I assume 2.3l DOHC Mazda L engine, Ford calls it a Duratec 23

Ford drive cycles are here: http://www.obdii.com/drivecycleford.html

A Dealer can Charge you to make it happen, i.e. drive the vehicle(or simulate on lift) as described in the tests and then bill you for that time, and if it doesn't "clear" find out why and fix the problem, then do the driving tests again to "clear".

EGR resets fairly fast so you may still have a problem there.
MAP could be part of that as well.

EVAP(fuel tank pressure) takes the longest to "clear"
