Okay, this is kind of an in-depth one but here we go. I have a 1984 Ford Ranger 2wd with a 2.3L 3 speed automatic. My friend has a 1988 Mitsubishi Mighty Max that he thinks has a 2.0 and a 5 speed manual. Is it really likely that his transmission is a toyo koygo 5 speed that I could use in my truck without having to get an adapter plate for it? If so, how different are the C3 *mine* and his 5 speed in terms of size/dimensions.

If it does work, I know I'll need to rig up a pedal, swap out my flex plate for a fly wheel, but would there be any problem with mounting the transmission?

Any info on this would be great. Thanks
