This procedure worked like a champ. Easy to do. I removed the shift boot, and the inner boot and pulled the plugs, cleaned the area and reinstalled all throught the shifter hole. I spent about 20 minutes total. No more leak. I used the red permatex gasket maker in a tube. Followed the instructions that were very good.

I did the same thing about 6 months ago(used orange high temp)it worked for about 2 weaks. I looked at it last night and the tranny fluid turned the permitex into a goey shit.
I tryed silicon this time see how long it lasts:dunno:

That's odd. I did the same thing, also with orange RTV. It worked fine and has been holding for the past four years.
