Manual to Auto swap

I got a 99 3.0 and im tired of driving stick. What do i gotta do/have to do this swap.


I need what tranny and all that other good stuff thanks

you need 4r44e trans, t.c., flexplate, computer for 3.0 auto 4x4, wire harness, brake pedal assembly, steering coulom, shift cable, floor plate, and lots of time. the junk yard is a great place to find it all, however you should have the trans rebuilt, new t.c. no sence in doing the work twice.

im doing the opposite i have a '97 3.0 auto 4x4 going to manual trans. and no my computer wont work in yours, '97 has different programing. i have been looking for 6months for the trans. i hope you have better luck than me.


On a side note the 4r44e trans is not much better than the a4ld of late, if you have larger tires w/o a regear it will cut the trans life in half, also you will get worse gas mileage over your manual trans.

So it's really not worth it to go to auto

I think it is. and you really dont need all of that stuff like the steering column. but it does take abit of effort and several days of hard work. It would be easier to trade or sell your truck and get and auto rig

if you want it stock style, no its not worth it. but if your upgrading to a c4 or c6 then it is.

That can easily be worked around to disable the release
