first of all i am sorry if this is not the right place to post this ....i have auto hubs on my 93 ranger splash 4.0 and i want to install manual hubs my question is how do i know which rear i have in my truck?i dont know what hubs to buy...any info would be greatly appreciated thanks..

Well first off, you have Dana 35.

Second, its not as simple as just throwing hubs on. I haven't done it myself yet, but I know there are other parts that need changed. Posting in the Axles or the 4x4 section should yield more informative results.

The auto hubs use a set of drivers to hold the wheel bearings on and to engage/disengage the hub. When you swap to manuals, you need the manual hub along with the manual nuts and washers. I'll have to look around an see if I have a picture of what I'm talkin about.

This is what you need besides the hubs themselves. I would suggest going to a wrecking yard and getting them there. Just be sure you're getting the stuff from a D35.

This article in the tech library helped me get it done.

they're very easy to isntall. just take off all the old auto hub stuff and install the manual hub nuts. i used a write-up in the tech library, took maybe 5 mins a side.

EDIT-just noticed shane wrote the same thing i did, so x2 to his post

I did the same thing to my '90 Bronco II except I had a Dana 28 front axle. It is relatively really easy and a good move on your part. Manual hubs are much more reliable and stronger than automatics. The only tricky part is getting that little "wedge" out. There is a couple of write ups in the Technical Library. If you're lucky enough to find a set from the junk yard, take everything that comes off of the hub until you get to the wheel bearing. Remember, you need the special lock nut tool ($20 at local parts store) to install the manual hubs.

When I did it, I bought the parts from Amazon.

I think I bought the special tool at Autozone.
