manual clutch pedal removal

I am doing a 5.0 swap to my 91 Ranger and was wondering about the clutch pedal removal (I am putting in a C4 auto). If I remove the clutch pedal and the wiring that goes with it will I have a problem with the truck starting since the clutch pedal needs to be pushed down to start the truck? Also is there a "best" way to remove all of the clutch pedal components?
