So born and raised in long island NY. got married to my wife from peoria illinois back in august 2014. She moved out here with me. Weve been living in an upstairs apartment with my family. I started my business out of the 2 car garage.

Well over the last 2 years, my wifes grandfather developed dementia. and her grandmother isnt in the best of health either. they live down in sebring florida. they own 3 houses that they rent out to people and friends they know, well one of the tenants has left one of the houses they own. so last year they invited us down to look at it.

long story short. me and my wife drove down this past week to look at the house. and discuss things. well the house is a double wide trailer. 1.5 acres of open land. last house on the end of the block, dead end street. in a fairly vacant area. 650 sq ft shop. with plenty of land to habe a building put up.

3 bedroom. 2 bathroom. The deal is. they want us to pay 550 a month plus utilities. and eventually the house will be signed over to us.

LONGER STORY SHORT. were moving!!!!!! I want to be out by September. I have to plan the move around my jobs because i have 5 cars plus my wifes jeep to move down. all my shop equipment. and anything in the apartment that we are taking with us.

So exciting/scary new beginnings. But By the end of this year. I will be an official Floridian :icon_twisted:

Florida is the americas weiner, just FYI.

Jk, have fun in the nice weather and watch for gators!

Well, good for you and the family. Good luck!

Good Luck with the move. Hope all goes well. Should be a wonderful new adventure.

Good luck in your new home

Good luck with the move. I live on 20 acres in south ms. I could not imagine living in an apartment or in town. You are going to love the weather in Florida. Plus no salt on the roads in what little they have down there.

congrats on the move and new digs.

The winters will be much more enjoyable for you :)

it is good to have family close by for her grandparents dementia. keep an eye out on *any* one that works with them. If they both come down to it, the best advice I can give you is take any credit cards away and have them use cash for everyday stuff. if someone that is in their home and working with them and is shady, at least you don't have to worry about credit card/ identity theft. losing cash is annoying, but doesnt hurt as bad...

Saw this with my grandparents about 20 years ago. drove my dad bonkers working with people to take care of them, we were 2 hours away at the time.

Thankfully. Only the grandfather has it. And he still is functioning somewhat normal for the time being. Her grandmother doesn’t have it, but time will tell. They have said they don’t want anyone at their house helping except us. And they said once they get bad enough. To just have them go to a home.

Thank you everyone!! It’s going to be a big change but I think it will be a good change.
