Make your RBV into a hybrid?

looks kinda cool... but for $3000 i'll see if you like it first...

i can imagine that for quite a while, trying to get an extra 2-3000 on resale after installing your own "bolt on hybrid conversion kit" is going to be like trying to get more money, because you installed a g-force chip

lol sure did

I can see this being a huuge liability for someone who does not understand the mechanics of how a car works on dry pavement and wet/ slick conditions.

in the case of inclement weather, if someone left this system turned on, I can see them throwing themselves into a ditch due to the "hybrid" wheels spinning.

In short, society in general is too stupid to have this kind of aftermarket kit without all sorts of safety interlocks, and we know how the government likes to promote that kind of crap, so figure this to be a 10,000 dollar add on...

what would be really nice if you could make up a set of portal attachments (like the ones for the d60) but incorporate the gear reduction into the amount of power applied to the wheels for offroad use

I've seen a few converted rangers lately. Mainly on CL and Ebay.

If gas ever goes to $8 a gallon........it would be worth the modification....

Interesting concept.
