Major Problem , Help Please

Ok , this is a continuation of sorts of my rod knock issue , i had to pull the head off my new engine , cleaned the threads in the block , went to put it back together and one of the bolts just spins , i cannot torque it , can anyone give me advice on what to do , i really need to fix my truck , it is so bad i was contemplating buying a dodge

if you can get the old bolt out just re thread the block with a little bigger thread an put a bigger bolt in i not sure but that might work just a thought.

well i know that it is the threads in the block , i did something stupid before i cleaned the threads , and i just want to get it in enough to prolly get rid of it , and buy this 97 i found

i know about helicoils , i am a mechanic , but the problem is ford used an off size bolt for the heads , they are M11-1.50

Like the other guys said---Just tryin to cover all the bases---is the bolt long enough in the first place? did you put the wrong bolt in the hole? was the bolt to small or too short to fit correctly causing you to only slightly damage the threads? if you did strip out the threads in the block, you could also buy a size larger U.N.C. (Good ole U.S.A.) tap & rethread the bad hole (be sure to buy a U.N.C. hardened bolt the right size, too). If you can't find a bolt the right length, buy one a little long & cut some off the end.

the head bolts are all the same length...no way he used the wrong length.

i would use a helicoil so that you can use the proper head bolt. those bolts are torque to yeild....i dont think any old bolt from the hardware store will work properly (leading to warpage and blown head gaskets). and i dont think you can buy "oversized" head bolts, so drilling and tapping is out. that just leaves the helicoil....

yea that is what i will do , but the problem now is that 6 of the 8 bolts are in and torqued to step 1 , so will i have to get new bolts ?

unfortunatly, yes. once they are stretched they dont go back.
