Magical 300 hp programming chips

I saw them online today and I was wondering if anyone has ever bought something like that. I seriously wouldnt expect for a 20 dollar programmer to give me 300 hp and 80 mpg. If there is even a small increase in gas milage i would consider getting one though. Any information would be helpful.

Nothing more than a 15 cent resistor that is put in the IAT circuit that will try to fool the PCM into thinking it's colder air than it really is so that it will add some timing and fuel for a little more power.......................

Didn't you read in my above post that I said 'try to fool the pcm' - there's a little inital surge right after installation of this 'chip', but the adaptive stategy will figure that things don't jive and will self-correct.
