maf and axle prolems with 04-05 rangers?

ok guys im looking at a new ranger so i can get my 97 v8 swap under way. ive looked at two 04-05 rangers from dealers and both in the carfax report have had the axle ring and pinion replaced and maf along with misc axle bearings.
was there a recal or tsb put out on this ? both are 4.0 so its the 8.8 which i thought nothing major changed since 97.

MAF is probably a coincidence. In the area of 04 to 05 a lot of Ford's plants were about due for retooling and major machine maintenance. They did have a lot of R&P noise issues around those years, it mostly affected the 9.75" axle in the F-150, but it could affect the 8.8 as well.

Replacing the carrier and pinion bearings along with the R&P set is common.

yeah ill buy that haha but the bearing were a separate issue about 2k miles apart . maybe the bearing was replaced thinking that was the issue . so its nothing to worry about if its been replaced?
