I'm looking into doing a OM617 diesel swap in a 1993-2006 ranger 2wd using the kit from Mercedes4x4.com. I already have the donor car a 1983 300SD, the website says that there kit hooks up to a M5ODR2 trans. So my question is what will I need for the M5ODR2 trans to fit into a 1993-2006 ranger(i have not bought the truck yet)?
Will the driveshaft hook up without shortening it?
Will I need to cut and floor pan for the shifter?
Will the slave cylinder need to be changed out for the F150 one?
What year/model F150 should I look for to get the trans from?

I know this a lot of questions but if yall have answers or links to old thread shot them at me.

Thanks yall:icon_thumby:

Will the driveshaft hook up without shortening it? DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU MOUNT THE ENGINE. YES IT WILL HOOK RIGHT UP WITH NO MODIFICATIONS

Will I need to cut and floor pan for the shifter? IF YOU HAVE THE PRE 97 TRANSMISSION. YES THE SHIFTER IS FURTHER FORWARD. BUT THE 97 UP ONES FROM A 4.2 HAVE THE SAME SHIFTER LOCATION AS THE RANGER.

Will the slave cylinder need to be changed out for the F150 one?
What year/model F150 should I look for to get the trans from? NO ONE FROM THE RANGER IS A DIRECT SWAP. AND 97-02 F150 WITH THE 4.2 IS PREFERABLE. BUT 88-96 WILL FIT AS WELL. JUST HAS THE SHIFTER LOCATION CLOSER TO THE DASH

I know this a lot of questions but if yall have answers or links to old thread shot them at me.
