I was looking at the Mazda 5speed that supposedly came from a 94 Explorer. There is 2 switches on this transmisssion. One being a reverse switch, the red connector switch.

There is another switch on the oposite side of the top cover. Is this a neutral switch? What's a little wierd, is that my 93 2.3 M5od doesn't have this secong switch.

Did this appear on certain vehicles, behind certain engines, or with certain options, on certain years?

The other switch (with the cable rattail) is a neutral sense switch
to tell the computer when it is supposed to control idle.

NOT having it connected really doesn't do much.

I'm running a 1993 management system that is supposed
to have such a switch but my transmission doesn't have it.
(Hell, it doesn't have the threaded hole for it)

Other than the scanner identifying that that switch "isn't working"
I've never noticed it's absence.
