After swapping my 103rd +/- 5 Ranger M5OD I finally decided to make it easier.

Since the bottom of the trans doesn't have a single flat spot on its difficult to stab a trans in with any precision so I put my poor fusion 360 skills to work.

PETG with 10 layer walls and 40% infill made for a stout unit.

I did similar but in wood for the same reason. Sooner later, I'm going to need to replace the clutch and I don't want to repeat the battle I had when I replaced the master and slave cylinders.

I also made a cradle for the transfer case so I could drop it independently from the transmission next time.

I can't believe you don't just crawl under it and bench press it in and out of position.

(With gravel, sticks and miscellaneous car parts digging unto your back)

There is nothing more fun when you do that and the POS decides it wants to do a barrel roll. My C5 did that on the way out so I had something to remember it by. Fun fact: a barrel rolling slushbox spews atf everywhere...

Yeah I ruined my favorite shirt one time when I tried pulling a FM-145 without draining it first. At least a quart of gear lube on my chest. That crap never comes out.

3D print deal looks pretty cool! Let us know how it works!

looks good. is it strong enough to drill & tap?
I wonder if J B weld is sold in bulk? or body filler.

I did for years and years. Now I'm older and broken...lol Forklift and 4 post are damn near required for even the smallest jobs lol

You going to offer these for others? Lol
Honestly...with the print time and material cost its probably not worth it, but I'd be more the happy to share the STL

3D print doesnt really do well with adding hardware post printing if it wasnt considered into the design. I just need it sit pretty so i can strap it down to the trans jack.

When I did my clutch, years ago, I bench pressed the 1345e and balanced the M5OD on a large regular floor jack. The floor jack thing was super sketchy and I almost lost it.

In my more adventurous days of driving my offroad truck hours to go wheel hard then hours back home....I did a trans a few times on the side of the trail with no jacks lol

safe to assume it has hollow /honey-come interior?
if solid areas were incorporated could the material support small loads around bolts ? not exactly load bearing, but secure it in place.
