M5OD-R1... which transfercase

Ok, so i have an 88 ranger 2.9L with the FM-146 5 speed (DEAD). I bought a reman M5R1 and I was told by them that the FM-146 transfercase will not work and that I need a Mazda transfercase. I've been searching and searching and it almost seems like they don't exist. I can't even find a part number...
But I'm curious what my options are here or if anyone can point me in the direction of finding this mysterious t-case. I have the locking hubs in the front and I would like to possibly go with a manual t-case... Truck already has holes in the floor so I aint worried about that...

Any transfer case from any exploder, bronco II or ranger will bolt up to any 4x4 tranmission from any exploder, B2 or Ranger.

The case you have is a Borg Warner 1350 and will work just fine if its electric shift.

If its a manual case, you may run into issues with the shifter fitting properly.

There is actually ONE explorer transfer case that won't fit and that's
the one from an AWD5.0 Explorer

The ONLY issue with you using your original T-case is the proper shifter.

You MAY have a compatible shifter already...

if you can post a PIC of your shifter from the rear I can
tell you if it'll work or not.
