ok, so i'm replacing my clutch, and while removing the trans the hydraulic line was damaged. my question is, can i replace just the line, or do i have to replace the master cylinder and line as one piece? any responses greatly appreciated.

To the best of my knowledge, the line is only sold with the master cylinder. If you found a used line they can be separated from the MC by punching out a roll pin and then reinstalling it on another MC with a new roll pin.

I didn't want to mess with that so I just replaced the whole MC and line with it - got a pre-bled unit so I didn't even have to bleed it.

Just get a line out of the junkyard. Use a 1/8th inch cold punch to tap the roll pin out, then the line pulls right off.

a new master cylinder is only 45 bucks at the local parts store. but the parts people can't tell me if that comes with a new line or not. but if it's factory assembled than i would think it should. does that sound right?
