M5od leak! rear tail housing?

have a pretty good leak coming down from the rear tail housing on my m5od..

i was wondering if this would be the place that the 3 shift rail plugs would leak down to....

tried searching to no avail. any help would be great.

note this is not where the transmission bolts to the transfercase but rather the rear section of the transmission itself..

sounds about right.....pop those rubber plugs out and toss in some soft plugs. IF you can reach 'em. lol.

I had the same issue. I just replaced the shift rail plugs. I purchased the rubber replacements from the dealer about 2 years ago and all is still well. Very easy, took me about 10 minutes to pop out the old ones and push the new ones in.
