M50D-R2 question

Hey i gotta a 88 ranger and was going to be putting in a 351 windsor in it come spring time, well the motor is coming outa and 80 f-150. My question was will M50d-R2 bolt the that motor? Let me know what yins think thanks.

Yes it will bolt right up. 289, 302 and 351w all share the same bell housing bolt pattern.

It should however be noted that even though the 5.8(351) has the same
bellhousing pattern as the 5.0(302) and 4.9(Inline 6) Ford never factory installed the M5OD-R2 Behind the 5.8 engine.

It got either one of the cast iron 4sp transmission OR the 5sp ZF built M5HD trans

Not to say that a Mazda "R2" won't work well in a Ranger with a 5.8
just be aware that it wasn't a factory combo...
