I picked up a 300/6 with a M50D-R1 5spd pulled from a 1992 Ford F-150. I was hoping to use the 5 spd in place of my 3 spd but the 5spd has no provisions for a speedo cable. According to Ford the 1992 F-150's had electronic speed sensors on the rearend which explains why no cable to the tranny. Can this 5spd be made to work with a cable driven speedo or did I just waste my money?

What you need are a mechanical speedo tailcone off of an earlier M5OD-R2 trans, the speedo drive gear, the circlip that retains it and the ball that is used as an anti rotation "key"

If you don't want to spend time searching for them I'm reasonably certain I have those parts here as I've got a couple R2's
