So on the extension housing of the trans and the driver side of it, there is what looks like a plug/vent of some sort. I'm not sure what it is or what it does and just wanted to see if anyone else knew. Its never been plugged into anything and no cut wires or anything from the harness near it like something was there, but it is leakin a little bit and I was just curious what the heck it is.

Any ideas?

Not sure what you're speaking of... Got a pic?

Has the tranny ever been swapped? maybe it's an unused neutral sensor switch or something.

Sounds like it's the VSS port and was swapped from an earlier year Ranger, since it's on the Extension Housing.
