'07 2.3l M50D w/ ~145K on it, synthetic tranny fluid changed ever 30-40K miles.
Front tranny seal starting dripping, I thought it was time to do the rear main oil seal, clutch disc, pressure plate, flywheel, pilot bearing, slave cylinder, and front and rear tranny seals while it was out.
Found what seems like a professional shop, when I got it back it didn't want to shift into 1st and sometimes reverse. The clutch pedal feel told me it wasn't bled properly, so I took it back and explained.
The shop rebled it and called to tell me it was still hard to shift into 1st and sometimes reverse, and they'd replaced the new fluid w/o good results. They were nice enough to put it back on the lift and let me confirm the throwout bearing travel and ascertain that the disc was free with the clutch pedal depressed. The pedal felt much tighter after their rebleed.
They suspected the synchros. It was hard to shift into gear with pedal depressed and engine off, so that seemed a reasonable assumption.
The problem is, I'd never had any shifting problems previously. And now I have a slight whine from the tranny, never there before. Aside from the long shot of them dropping the tranny on it's input shaft, (they seem honest and sincere) I'm at a loss to understand the problem. Any help, hints, or mockery welcome!
