Anyone know the size of the fill/drain plugs on this transmission?

I need to pick up a replacement, but pulling the old one and taking it to the
parts store isn't a good option for me. :)

I think that's the only way you're going to get it done buddy. You're talking about the thread pitch right?

I know the bolt head is 15/16".

Yup, the thread size and pitch.

I'm pretty sure the filler and drain are the same size.

Maybe someone has been thru this and wrote it down for me. :)

I bet someone's gotta have it...

Just had an idea, I'll check with a few trans repair shops in the morning..

Worst case I guess I could always pull the fill plug out while in the parts store parking lot. But Murphy ('s law) tells me not to. :)

you could always swing by a junk yard and get them from another truck for nothing. I hate to say it but they are big and i have never seen anything close to that size in a parts store.

Getting closer. My local carquest was able to tell me it's 24mm, but no idea about the threads..

24mm? No FN way.

That's almost an inch, quite close to the HEAD SIZE.

I wouldn't trust information about the business hours from those guys if they don't know the difference between bolt and head sizes.

I don't think there is an M24 bolt anywhere on the vehicle. That's HUGE.

Now I feel stupid, because it didn't even click to me that an inch is 25mm. He must of been referring to the head size.

I believe the thread size is 18mmX1.5 but I'm going from foggy memory...

I'll have to check.

You really need a plug? I think I have a coffee can full of them somewhere around here...

I could really use one. The previous owner pretty well rounded the head off of it, and I'm tired of fighting with it everytime I check my fluid. :)

I did find some Ford part numbers if anyone is interested!

e8tz7a010c - Drain plug
e8tz7a010b - Fill plug
99564-1800 - Sealing washer

UPDATE! 18mm x 1.5 is the correct size and they are available from Advance Auto under the MotorMite brand.
