I have reassembled my M5R1 trans with an online rebuild kit. When I tighten the front bearing retainer the input shaft will not turn. I'm 98% I didn't swap the front and rear main shaft taper bearings but......in the event that the 2% did happen would this create a problem? I hand tighten the front retainer/cover and the input shaft is good without any wobble. When I torque the cover down the input shaft will not turn at all. I was thinking about buying another input shaft taper bearing and changing it out but I'm not sure. I think the front race is protruding out from the case too far and this is causing a bind on the bearing when I tighten the front cover. The output/mainshaft can still spin by hand once the front cover is torqued tight. All of the gears are flush faced from the main shaft and counter shaft just like they were before disassembly. If anyone has some input it would be great. thank you

I disassembled on advise and reassembled from the correct angle. Ford service manual guy. It is now installed and working great. Thank you for the tips and advise/replies.
