Lug studs too short?

So just recently the lug studs on my 97 ranger came loose and stripped for some reason. Well after grinding and drilling ot get them off I went to buy replacements, right before pressing them in I noticed that they are about a 1/4in too short, my lug nuts already sit about 1/8 out of the stud. So I returned them and searched for the proper studs, and after checkin 6+ stores including ford I have not found a set. It is about a 2 1/2in stud, every other part matches up to a stock stud except that it is 1/4in longer. the stock studs would be too short. So my question is does anybody else have this problem? The truck also has a milemarker manual hub conversion installed by the previous owner, which I dont believe came with longer studs. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated as my truck is currently sitting in my garage in pieces. Thanks.

The manual hubs should be the same thickness as the auto hubs or stock manual hubs. I don't see why they would put a shorter or longer stud on different models. As for finding the right size I would see if there is a difference between front and rears, I know on one or two of my trucks has shorter studs up front or behind...

Only thing I can think of is go to Ford for one...?

Ya I went to Ford, they just said it isnt in their books, the length is longer than the stock one, they said they migh be able to order me one. Im going back today.
