My tranny has been acting funny and I think its on its way out, I don't have the money to rebuild it right now so I was gonna try some lucas stop slip to try and get a little more life out of it. Its not leaking but it is slipping around corners, my fluid and filter are at about 5000 miles on the change and I did it myself so I know it got done right. Does this stuff actually work to help stop the slipping or does it cause any other serious issues that would shorten the life even more? Thanks for any info.

I used it in a A4LD in a Mustang once, and I couldn't tell any difference.

my 93 a4ld was slipping so bad it was over heating the truck, after two bottles she is 10times better.

Just did this yesterday, seems to help. If you are looking for a way to get some of the fluid out, go buy a syringe and about 4 feet of tubing to suck it out. Found syringes at Fleet N Farm.

Yeah thats how I did it when I put a bit to much in when I did the fluid change before:) The stuff doesn't cause the seals to expand or anything does it?

I had one slipping and put Lucas in it and drove it another 80,000 miles. Its a friction modifier. I wont help you if all the clutch material is completly gone from your clutches. What really hurts auto trannies is running them to long without changing fluid. Everything seems fine until you do change it then as soon as you do, it starts slipping. Thats why most places that flush trannies make you sign a waiver before flushing. Most of your friction material is floating in the old fluid and when you change it, it is lost hence the slippage. Lucas add friction, hence friction modifier. Its good stuff but it wont help a tranny with internal damage but is well worth the try for the price.

Ah very good then, im looking for one to rebuild so I may dump a bottle in when I find the new tranny and see how it does. It shifts good when I get on it though so its probably still got some life left in it.
