Can you lower trucks with fiber glass leaf springs the same way as steel?

Yes, although it's a bit more difficult.

You have to cut the rivets off of the saddle in the middle of the leaf spring and flip it over, then rebolt it together.

Someone here has done it before and said that it's pretty easy. I have the fiberglass composite leaves, but don't plan on lowering it with them installed. My wheels stick out too far and will get cut up on my fenders.

Ok, ill go under there soon and do some research. Im trying to hurry and get all the parts so I can slam this thing already. Just roll your fenders if you want to drop it

They stick out way further than you think... I wouldn't roll my fenders anyways.

Besides, I've already had my truck lowered. I got tired of how it rode.

What about an oldschool monoleaf spring???

The fiberglass leaves are singles.

Once I get my pickup back up and drivable, I'll let you all know how it rides.

Was looking at drop leaf springs last night. Are they more practical than working on the fiberglass leafs?

Practical is sticking with the original leaves and flipping hangars and/or the axle.

Fiberglass composite leaves are hard as hell to come by, and lowering springs are just not necessary.

Ok, i can deal with the rivets. I got my bbs wheels today, so the drop is next.

dont glass leaves break more easy than the steel?

Read up on them. Surprisingly they don't.

haha on this version of trs....on one a few years ago i had over 3500....i was a really bad post whore

With stock spring setup do the fiberglass leaves sit any lower than standard leaf springs? As much as I've looked at rangers around here I don't believe that I've ever seen a set of them.

Tell me about it, I'd finally gotten over 1K posts, and it changed again. I'd been on that version sit it started and I believe the version before that when it was fairly new. Never until the last version did I hit over 1K posts and then lost all of that hard work. But as you probably know from that I'm really not much of a post whore, hell I've been a member here since I wanna say 01 or 02 and that's was the highest I'd ever gotten.
