question people.....

i wanna drop my 87 ranger hard. the truck'll only see the road a few times a month, so i dont really wanna go with air bags or anything like that.
its a reg cab 2wd shortbed with the fiberglass bed and soon itll be rollin with a 302. i really want a low low stance to it but dont have much money to spend on this.

my question is... whats the cheapest way to lower my ranger safely. i wanna go as low as possible for as little as possible. any suggestions?

any help would be greatly appreciated. cory. :dntknw:

the rear is the cheapest to lower al you got to do for a low low stance is mini notch the frame and flip the rear and shackles... the front you dont want to skimp or you will be buying tires like crazy... just the front to match the back will run you probably around 500 for I beams coils radius arm and trans... slammedx can get you a quote to do it safely

damn.. thats more than i have to spend on it. maybe ebay has something cheap. i pm'd slammedx and he seemed to have some pretty good suggestions.

ebay is more expensive especially since slammedx can give you a package deal... i have no money either ive been drooling over slammedxs kit for a month just hoping to have the money after christmas

oh, and tire wear isnt really gonna be that big of an issue, itll only see the road maybe like 20 times a year after its done.

yeah no kidding.. ive been wanting to drop mine forever. but im in the process of throwin a 302 in her and any cash i have is pretty much tied into that. maybe ill just take out the front springs lol

well the guy i got my truck off of did the flipp in the rear.... had the dream beams on it, got stoned, and sold em for 100 bucks then chopped the springs... now im tryin to fix everything he f'ed up

ouch dude thats gotta suck.. im def gonna flip the ass of it, but i really dk how im gonna drop the front. im runnin a 9 inch rear end so i dont know what that'll affect. ive honestly considered just taking a couple coils out of the front, but idk how that'll affect the ride. hmmm.... gonna have to look into it...

thats wat ive got 2 coils cut and with jus the flip in the rear it sat 1in. taller in the front... so i put some coils in the rear for stability on those 5 grand launches

badass... so will i have to notch the frame if i do a basic flip in the rear? and how do you cut the coils?

youll be ridin on bump stops in the rear makes for a hard ride... follow the end of the coil at he top down 2 and chop then put them back in but i dont recommend it... in the rear why dont you just flip the shackles it drops you 2 inches and matches the front then buy 2 inch drop coils

ahh but i want the front lower as well. at least an inch or so in the front would be good for now. but i deff want the ass lower. can i trim some off the bump stops

i think i just need to hit the lottery.. yup. thats what i need

To lower the front, add a little rake, and at the same time have it really low you will have to spend a lot of money on the front. The most you can get out of the front with cut coils is like an inch and a half...maybe 2 but thats pushin it. Drop coils, and drop ibeams in the front is how you have to lower it to get it low...theres no way arouund it.

The back is easy...I have 8 inchs of drop in the rear for like 80 bucks lol.

Good luck and I love the bed you got on your truck.

Yea like in the PM I sent you the 3/4 DJM kit is probaly the best route which will run a first gen about $455 depending on the shipping.
The other option is to run belltech 2 inch drop coils in the front around $170ish shipped
and either flip your rear hangers for 2 inches or go with a 4" DJM flip kit at around $65ish shipped.

I highly recommend not cutting coils.
