Lowering my 97 B2300 2wd, 4cyl, 5spd?

Hello everyone,

I'm very new to the small truck world, and gas vehicle world as well. I've been driving a Cummins for the past few years, and decided it was time to get a fuel saver. I bought a one owner, 1997 Mazda B2300 that is a 4cyl, 5spd, 2wd with 80,000 miles. It is perfect for what I needed.

I do not want to do much to the truck, but I did put some 18" Cobra R wheels on it with new tires for now. I would like to lower it a bit (not slam it) but I understand these trucks are not so easy to do so because of the i-beams?

If someone could please point me in the right direction of which kit I need or how to go about doing this, that would be great! I don't want it on the ground, just 2 or so inches in the front and maybe 3 or 4 in the rear?

I bought a Belltech kit. 3" I-beam in the front and 4" flip kit in the rear with shocks. What is the largest tire size I can run with this lowering kit? I currently have a 255/40R18 on 18x10 Cobra wheels.

I used to have a 1995 mazda b2300 with 60k miles that looked just like yours! except i was more into offroading than lowered trucks. I sold it a month ago.

you should paint the bumpers and grille black it looks so much better!


and as for the tire size, try running what you have now, they should look pretty good.
