I have a 1984 ford ranger 4 speed I have recently rebuilt my 2.3L and I am going to plan on lowering my ranger 3in. front and 4in. rear but what my question is what do i need to lower the front end my buddy has the rear covered could someone point me in a direction to a cheap parts to lower the front end? I never lowered a vehicle before!! anyone with advice??

Sorry.....but I CANNOT advise you that cutting "1&1/4 turns" off the top of each coil spring will get you close to a 3" drop at no cost to you..

Try DJM suspensions.... that what i used on my 2000 ranger

You won't get 3" cheap up front. If you cut the coils for 3", you will have bad, uncorrectable camber, and will eat up tires. For a reliable 3" you want to buy lowering i-beams, which cost over $300 new.
