I have a 2.9 w/world aftermarket heads that i'm in the process of rebuilding. It had the infamous coolent/oil cappuccino going on. I don't think the heads are cracked(since they are the thicker world castings), but I did find a spot where the lower intake bled. I was wondering since the intake doesn't bolt to the heads directly if anyone had issues with the intake surface on aftermarket heads... I'm gonna take the lower intake to the machine shop and have them take a look but I'm wondering if this is common? Any experiences, recommendations, suggestions?? I don't want to do this rebuild twice :)

EDIT: The heads will be checked at the shop just in case...

Could just be a leaky lower intake manifold gasket.

I have aftermarket heads, but they are not world. I had them chopped .030". I went through a long debate with the machine shop about the need to mill the lower intake also, they told me it would be fine.

1 week later I noticed coolant in my oil. The lower sat noticeably too high along the heads, and I should have known better, but I took the machine shop's advice. I got a discount on the lower intake milling since I wasn't exactly happy about the coolant in my oil.

If the heads have been milled? you might need to do that same. If it's stock, and it's definitely a good idea to have the machine shop take a look, I would guess just a bad gasket or a dorked install. Does it look like the lower had been milled at any point?

It doesn't look like it was milled, the shop has the lower intake also. I was just wondering if it was common since the intake just bolts to the block and kind of floats against the heads. Sounds like it is a concern...
