Lower ball joints?

I have a 2005 ranger 4x4, was replaceing the front brakes and rotors and I think the ball joints are bad. When I went to put the rotor on I lifted up and the lower joint seems a little loose. Moved about an 1/8 inch or so just by me lifting up. Truck is setting on jack stands. I'm trying to convince myself they aren't bad. But do you guys think they are? How much play is too much? Thanks.

Spec is 0.032" vertical play.

If you can feel it it's pooched.
