I have a 2006 Ford Ranger Sport Extended Cab and it came with a single player CD unit. I purchased the upgraded MP3 6-player CD head unit from a Tremor package and also a Sony XM4S four channel amplifier. I installed the Sony under the passenger seat and it fit with plenty of room. With a couple of aftermarket wiring harnesses I adapted the head unit to the amplifier but I had to fabricate patch cables by using shielded two conductor cable to tie in the radio side wires and RCA male adapters for the amplifier low level input side. When I turn the key to accessory the sound is to die for and really works great. My problem is when I turn the key to ON ( without starting the vehicle ) I get a buzzing noise. When I start the vehicle the buzzing noise does not change. Does anyone have an idea of what could be turning on in the vehicle to create this noise? Maybe a fuel pump? I was wondering if I could just buy a power input filter for the CD player and eliminate the noise. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Help, I'm sooooo close on this installation and know I can beat it!
