loud starter

Hey guys just a question I have a 84 2.3, with a really loud starter. No grinding or spinning, truck starts everytime but its so loud. Don't know if I should rebud it or just get a new one. Just seeing if someone has had the same thing. Thanks

Id pull it and take a look at it. It probably really old and should be replaced

also if the starter checks out, you can put some dynamat or the equivalent on the tunnel

Pull it look at the ring gear for damage the bushing in the starter may be so bad that it is hitting below the teeth on the fly wheel makeing aloud clangging sound
