Losing my ranger

Only seven hundred a year, I pay that much for six moths of insurance with only liability and no accidents

Tickets will get you bad as well!!

I am only 17, therefor I'm still on my parent's insurance, and I have ONLY Liability on my Ranger.
I figure it is worth about $2500, and my insurance I think is about 8-900 every six months with just Liability (I pay my parents a given amount, and they cover the rest, so I'm not positive how much it costs). With full coverage it jumps up to well over 1000 per six months. At that rate, it is cheaper to just buy a new car if I wreck this one. And since I only have liability, I can keep the truck, and just part it out, to make a good chunk of the money back.

You do have to keep a stash handy though just in case, otherwise you will have to wait a year to earn what you would pay for comprehensive insurance, plus still pay insurance on it. For an older car it is the way to go, but you have to be prepared to shop for a replacement in a hurry.
