lose the A4LD?

my governor just went out in my A4LD for the second time in 2 yrs. there are also metal shavings in the pan. should i just chunk the thing? if so what other trans. would bolt up to my 2.9? anyone got any experience with this? any help would be appreciated.

Yes, any trans from a 2.9 or 4.0 will bolt up. There is also a C4 and C5 that will bolt up also. You could also do the 700r4 swap (adapter from Advance Adapters). The possibilities are endless. You could even do a manual trans swap also. Your only limit is your imagination and the size of your pocket book.
 
anyone seen or heard of a 200-4R swap for the ranger? I like it cause it's smaller and closer ratios.
