Loosing coolant under intake...

New here folks. My son in law has a 2001 Ranger 2.3 manual 2wd. He lost all of his coolant from underneath the intake. It looks like there is a factory hose assembly with a plastic TEE. The plastic TEE broke in half. My question is, how in the world do you get to that. It looks to me like pulling the transmission would be the best way but I may be missing something. A little help here would go a long way. Thanks

When you say "intake," are you referring to the air intake tube assembly or the upper intake manifold?

Whatever the case is, I doubt removing the transmission to replace a plastic tee is the best method. You might just need to buy longer replacement hoses and find someone with smaller, capable hands.

How big is the hose? Can you take a picture of it?

Could this be a hose that goes to/from the heater core? Is it on the passenger side, near the firewall?

Driver side, above starter, under the plastice intake, hose comes from water pump to the plastic TEE, around to a fixed tube behind the engine block and up to the heater control valve. The hose that comes off the top of the TEE is a smaller hose and also runs to a fixed pipe at the back of the engine.
