I believe this is the correct spot for this but not sure...So I have yet again another issue with my truck you guys im starting to get alittle frustrated with it but that's beyond the point....So the other day I was driving the truck around and noticed that the gear lever (automatic) was super loose not only could I move it but if I were to move it around it would basically wiggle from the park position all the way down to the bottom....well I tried putting it in park when I got back to the house and I pushed it all the way to the top and it would only go to reverse, but it I was at the top of the column there wasn't anymore room to go up for park...So I wiggled it around and finally got it to park....When I came back out later to look at it I tried turning the car on and it wouldn't it seams like the anti-theft is kicking in...after wiggling the column around and the key it finally came on but I have the same problem if I go into reverse or drive I can't get it back in park without wiggling it again...Is there any suggestions on this...ALSO figured out that if I put my emergency brakes on it doesn't hold AT ALL thought id throw that in here since found that out when tried putting them on because I couldn't get it in park if yall could please help on this issue thank you.

On the column or floor shift? It sounds like a nut is loose but have no experience with the system.

Common issue with all Ford trucks with column shifters, Ranger to F-350.

Under the dash there are a couple of screws that loosen up and even fall out.

Google: ford column shifter loose

Loads of videos and "how-tos" on fixing it.

People with automatics rarely use the emergency brake, and if you don't backup and stop alot then the rear shoes never get adjusted as they wear down.

Try this to get them adjusted, pull out the e-brake release handle, now pump the e-brake pedal, you should feel it get less and less travel as rear shoes adjust out to the drum.

If you have a manual trans you use the e-brake all the time so rear shoes stay adjusted.

your right it was one of the screws in the back it wasn't even attached at all....Found another bolt from the ford house for 2 bucks put it in and bamn that part was fixed...Now as far as the emergency brake part the cable going to the rear drums was completely torn apart and not even connected on one side.....put a new one in and works just fine....Im going to have to do the same thing to the left side now seeing how the cable is full of slack thank you you guys for the help.
