I currently have a 2002 Ford Ranger with a 5.5'' Fabtech lift on it. I just bought deavers for the rear and my buddy is currently building a bed cage for me. I bought the 2.0 shock upgrade from camburg but i dont know which shocks to go with. I have heard great things about fox and blistein. I heard about these new shocks called F.O.A. Has anyone heard of these or any test runs using these shocks? I need good res shocks all the way around, any recomendations? This truck is a daily driver, but I do like to get a little crazy on weekends.

my buddy work at a offroad racing shop and has always pointed me in the dirction of getting fox. they are a huge company which makes it easy and fast to get parts for. the same boat for bilstein but the shipping is a bit slower and parts might be a bit more expensive. as for quality, they are both about the same.

the foas on the other hand are a smaller, newer company which means when you have something goes wrong, it might cost you more to fix. some parts dont even break down completely like the fox or bilsteins. that means you have to replace a larger assembly rather than a smaller cheaper part. i hope this makes sense.

id go with the bilsteins. i just bought a set of bilstein 9100 rock crawlers for my sas.

make sure you get atleast 2.5 shocks if you do alot of high speed offroading. they will not heat up as fast as the 2.0 shocks and have larger lines to the res.

ever consider kings?

id go for the bilstines

we use them on our racecar(bigblock DIRT modified) and they last forever
the last shock that needed a rebuild was about 10 years old, with about 200 races between about 4(mabe 5 or 6) cars

just be careful if you do take them apart( if there nitrogen charged) to let the nitrogen out of them
theres a hole in the wall of the shop because someone thought it was empty, a good 20 feet away LOL

I have looked at

The 7100 bilsteins and they are cheaper than the fox by lik 40-60 bucks. Are the Bilsteins re-bulidable? Bilstein also only sells a 2.0 body.

the 7100 dont compare to the fox. the 9100s do. the 9100 bilsteins come in 2.0 and 2.65
