couldn't be happier with my sub install, unless i could fit like 2 more in here, then i'd really be bangin!!!

just looking to get some door speakers over the summer to add some more loudness and more midbass, as my 4" el cheapo dash speakers can't handle the mids like i know some awesome door speakers could.

don't really care about size, i would think that a round speaker would look best though

as of right now, my budget is $0... i'm super freakin broke, but i've got an interview for a full time summer job at a security place tomorrow that i REALLLLLLLLY need so i can stop living paycheck to paycheck.

anyway, so what i was trying to say is i don't know what my budget will be, but not more than 150, guaranteed.

not biased towards any brands, but at the time i do not plan on amping, mainly because i don't think i could shove an amp anywhere, and that's just more money on top that i don't have.

anybody have any good experience with any door speakers on a gen1? i feel like the door pockets are pretty narrow, so i gotta go with a somewhat slim mount speaker.

i've got a pioneer amp feeding a kenwood 12" slim mount... shakes my mirrors and noticeable movement on my graduation tassel hanging from my rear view mirror. can't hear A LOT outside of the truck, but depending on the song, it can be real nice and loud. just some no name 4" dash speakers.

they may be no name speakers, but they put out some pretty good volume, they are loud as hell for just two 4's, but i want more like quality volume instead of just loudness, which is why i want to add some door speakers.

i don't quite understand what you mean by you had some plates built for your door...

just swapped out my dash speakers with a pair of Sansui 4" models off ebay for cheap. they sound 100% better than the Sony's that the po had in there!! smoother and deeper/richer sound as well as better bass. small woofer is next. don't care how it sounds to the outside world as long as it sounds good in my cab. yeah, i'm a happy camper!

i'd really suggest looking at my std cab gen 1 sub install thread then, i couldn't be happier with my sub install! it shakes my mirrors, great sound inside, and if the windows are down, i can hear it inside my house. all from a slim mount 12"

i have seen that thread. just more than i want. need room behind the seat for jack, oil (haven't done the valve seals yet), and other little things. i have an underseat amplified woofer from the early 1980's that will give me all i need in the subwoofer department. yours was a nice build though.

Phoenix gold rsd6cs from www.audiosavings.com

those are great sounding 6" comps that will add nice mids and highs to your truck. I had those in my old probe and just off the headunit they shook my mirrors
