looking for a suggestion

im kind of new to off roading so i want to consult some people who know a thing or 2 about lift kits, i have a 1991 xlt ranger, and want to lift it 6". heard skyjacker was a good brand, but what do you guys think?

Skyjacker is probably the best for your year truck, I have the 6in and its great.

Either Skyjacker or James Duff are excellent lifts. Stay away from the cheaper (super lift/tuff country/rough country) lifts as some of them will have a cheap drop bracket that can put a hole in your front diff housing under full comrpession.

originally did a 4 inch rough country. sure it's cheap and easy to install, but you talk about busting kidneys! it's.....as the name implies....Rough!

i have used James Duff and i really must say it's an easy kit to install and a very nice ride....Plus (and this goes a LONG way in my book) if you ever need any info, data or assistance you can call them and they are always willing to help. even if it's finding a part they don't carry!

Skyjacker is a great name and quality product. you almost cant go wrong with them.

i might suggest doing a 3 inch mechanical and 3 inch body lift...but that's my personal opinion having done straight up 4 inches, straight up 6 inches and a 3 and a 3 inch bosy lift and absolutely LOVE the 3 and 3.
