Looking for a car. 35mpg+ in the 3000-5000 dollar range.

It's been a decade since I spent more than $3k on a car. Haven't had major trouble with any of them. Only have $800 in the Ranger and it's run like a top for a year.

I bought mine for 900, it still needs alot of work but whatever. It's all good.

I love the Zx2 by the way. FAST as hell. But don't worry, Koda will be a good boy and only speed moderately, I don't need my insurance to be any higher..

I'll post a link to my Zx2 thread in a bit.

+1. The ridiculousness of the post you responded to is absolutely astounding.

im willing to bet that original post was sarcasim, atleast i hope so.

he basically was listing everything the pruis had for the geo....

despite its down falls, compared to the pruis...i would still drive a geo over the pruis when they get the SAME mileage(you can buy a geo or similar car for much less then a pruis)...thats whats surprising, pruis's are supposed to be so great, when a typical gasoline car can get the same exact mileage as it...crazy!

I used to own a '99 Honda Civic and I averaged 31 in the city without being very nice on it. Best I got was 36 city

I have an 89 corrolla wagon 1.6 carb'd, gets the same mileage as most 99's and newer..... wth

Exactly, are we at the point of diminishing returns when it comes to petrol motors, or is it because of the EPA crap that causes newer vehicle to be less efficient?

its the EPA crap

I used to drive a Neon at work. It's taken a great amount of abuse and never really had any problems. It's a very well-handling nimble car too. I'd recommend one. ;brownbag;

My best friend has had 3 neons. They have 1 downfall, at about 160k the stock water pump goes out, and as soon as you replace that they have overheating issues and eventually fall apart. All 3 of his cars fell apart after we replaced the water pumps. Dodge ftl
