I'm gonna need one of these before it turns cold again. 21416A6F-B838-414D-924C-DA538E6A9E12.png Anyone have one they are willing to part with and ship to 28787?
Many Thanks

Wishing you good luck. Those are hard to come by these days.

Thanks. They are hard to come by for sure! I have contacted at least 5 salvage yards that have posted ads for the blower motor on eBay w/ pics showing it still attached to the box. But when I call they don't have it. I may have to cut up an A/C box and cobble something together.

Material feels like polypropylene if you wanna try and weld it...

Early on in my Ranger career, I made a habit of watching for one of those for my 93 every time I went to the junk yard. One day, I saw one and grabbed it as soon as I could. Don't think I've seen one since.

You were smart to grab it....I posted here last year for one and never heard a peep....
Weld Polypropylene? Is there a practical (i.e. affordable) way to do that? I know a lot of glues won't do the job. Is there an epoxy that works?

I bet I could snag one just about any trip to the yard. most all of the rangers here in Colo are non-ac to begin with (mine is as well - it's a colo native). Problem is I almost never go anymore - I have everything I could want (except power windows, power locks and AC....)

Looking for 83-90 Non-AC Heater Box

Next time I get to the u-pull-it I'll see if they have any, but it might be a while with our summer temps. I'm going to guess that the part itself would be about $20, but can't begin to say on the shipping.

Thank you Josh.....That would be very kind. I would be glad to cover any expenses plus a finders fee. I've been looking for 2 years. I've called yards in North Carolina, Colorado, Oregon and Minnesota after seeing what I need in a photo on eBay. But always told they did'nt have it.
Thanks again,

you said you tried Colorado, did you hit up Fort Morgan? (the big cities have less "country trucks") and Ft Morgan is about as far out in the country as you can get without going to full on no-where-s-ville (where I live).

Ft Morgan is the kind of shop where they pull it, clean it up, mark it up significantly and sell "by the part".
from that listing I linked - 970-867-2486. I never go there cause they are an extra hour away and charge 2x as much.

Where I go is no inventory - it is a true u-pull-it so you have to show up in person. - Atwood Auto and Metal
(Atwood is $1/ft on un-listed plastic, so probably like $8 for such an item, ft morgan probably wants $40).

And just to confirm you want a 1st/2nd gen even though your profile says you have a 96?

Are they actually different '91+? I thought they were all the same for a long time.

I think I kept my original box in the basement for years, but eventually threw it out. I'll look around.

I think mine came from a 91 and was different from the 88 where that little tube mounts beside the motor. I screwed a PVC fitting in it and it sealed perfectly.

I read here on the forum somewhere, that 83-90 used a seperate box for non a/c and after1990 the same box was used for both a/c and non a/c. That was 2 years ago when I started looking.
I called Brush Auto Parts, N.E. of Denver on I-76, when they posted photos of a 87 Ranger and again when they posted a Bronco. Both engine bay photos showed just what I was looking for but when I called they said they did not have it. Same with yards in Oregon, North Carolina, Minnesota and Missouri. My closest pull-a-part is a 4 hour drive in Charlotte. It's an LKQ yard and they don't keep anything very old. I found a yard here in WNC that had 5 gen 2 Rangers but not one was non a/c.
Last year I did a google search using the Ford part number. I found a company selling new ones listed for my '96. The drawing in the ad was from the Ford parts book showing a non a/c unit like the one we are taking about. When it arrived it was the new style and I had to return it.
I really appreciate all the knowledge and help I have gotten from this Forum. My project would have been impossible without it.

I can't guarantee there's not a breakover year with small changes somewhere, but in a quick search last night I saw two posts saying you're good through '94, and one saying the unified box started in '95.

I used to drive a '94 that came without A/C, so I can personally promise you that A/C and non-A/C boxes were still different then. I think you should be able to expand your search to include '91-'94 Rangers, Explorers, and the '94 B-Series.
