and i'd like an honest awnser though. dont just ignore it because its for a chevy. and im not getting the stainless. its going to be alminumized painted black:icon_twisted:

also would i get better mpgs from doing this(noticable milage increase) and better power? and if so about how much more am i looking at for a 4.3 auto 4wd on 35's. im atleast hoping for 16+ mpg instead of 13 or 14

I say neither. Not sayin don't get one but....

The side swep one I think looks kinda goofy on trucks unless the pipes are just right! I think they are cool on step side trucks actually!

The Dual back or whatever its called is sooooooooooooooooooooo generic! I swear when I go to the city every truck and I mean EVERY truck with a custom exhaust has the dual back systems.

I would just go with the single out the original spot sounds great and looks normal or the Dual Extremes! I tried making dual extreme style pipes for my old ranger and I must say it looked pretty badass! (then the flexy pipe rusted out lol)

Edit... Never mind I'm a dumbass, I got confused with the names. I thought the swep side was the super truck and the dual sport was the split rear. :P

I say go with the Dual Sport!

go with the splits.

a chevy needs a dual exhaust, its the only thing we have to defend ourselfs against the ford guys :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl:

i am a ford guy driving a chevy:thefinger:

now, what would i be looking at for gains in power and mpgs if any(none and i wont buy it)?
i know alland would know. he knows everything.

You probably won't get many people that say you are gonna see mileage increases and little if any power increases.... But I think it all depends on the vehicle.

I haven't had my exhaust on long enough to judge the gas mileage but I will say there is noticeable power (not accelerating) but being able to pull up the same hill that I normally have to downshift to maintain speeds. but thats on a ranger 3.0l from 2" pipe to 2 1/2" pipe. I think the chevys already have 2 1/2" pipe or 3" pipe but thats the v8s. You could probably get away with a higher flow muffler and get about the same effects. (minus the shiny) :icon_thumby:

all the chevys even with v-8s got the 2-1/2 pipe.
im trying to get mandrel bent(i dont like my factory kinked exhuast) pipes too to just add that little bit extra power and mpg.

I have a Gibson on my Sport Trac. A slam-dunk to install. I could feel the difference in power and picked up 3 mpg on the highway. In-town mpg is no different. On the V6's, Gibson's own data shows more hp with the single than the dual system.

so the dual sport(both pipes out the same side) wouldnt do any good and be worse?

Well it is probably because with two pipes its harder for exhaust gas to stay warm and flow faster.... I think. I'm just trying to sound smart but I think I have heard that before. I wouldn't worry too too much about it.

On a V8 duals would help. A V6 just doesn't flow as much air, so you lose exhaust gas velocity. Less restriction is good to a point but you can also have too little.
